What loans are eligible?
You may consolidate a wide variety of federal student loans, including:

• Federal subsidized Stafford loans
• Federal unsubsidized Stafford loans
• Federal PLUS loans
• Supplemental Loans for Students (SLSs)
• Federal consolidation loans (you must have at least one other eligible loan to consolidate)
• Direct subsidized Stafford loans
• Direct unsubsidized Stafford loans
• Direct PLUS loans
• Direct consolidation loans
• Federal Perkins loans
• Federal Nursing loans
• Health Education Assistance Loans (HEALs)
• Other federal health education loans (e.g., HPSL and LDS loans)
• Use the drop-down menu to enter your student loan data.

Use the "Other/Private Loan"category to enter the amounts of any non-federal loans, including loans issued under Sallie Mae's private loan programs like Signature Student loans.

Is there a minimum balance requirement?
Yes, the minimum balance for consolidation loans disbursed by Sallie Mae is $5,000.
